full name: Tior-Cur - tea-or-cur
Description
Cur adulthood is entered into at that point in their lives when the colour of their scales becomes drastically contrasting in hue to their general skin tone, beginning at around fourteen years of age.
There are three sub-species of the race but all have similar physical characteristics. The bodies of the Cur are covered in a combination of leathery skin, scales and hair. They all have long tails and bestial-like legs that enable them to run at speeds faster than other biped races. Clawed hands and feet make them strong and adept climbers.
Khouij
(pronounced coo-ij)
The Khouij are the tallest and slimmest of the Cur. They have a set of distinctive horns and long fur covers their backs, back of the arms and legs and the back of their heads.
The Khouij move naturally on all fours limbs as well as upright on their two legs. When moving on all fours they are able to gallop as fast as mounts used by other races.
Yuqr'i
(pronounced yook-ru-eye)
The Yuqr'i are the strongest of the Cur species. They are squatter and broader than their cousins with powerful limbs. Two crests begin above their eyes, run over the head and down their spines. Long hair grows down the centre of their torsos to the groin, on the insides of their thighs and also on the inside of the wrists. Hair also grows on their heads between their crests and some Yuqr'i even sport beards.
Osjto
(pronounced osh-toe)
The Osjto stand only slightly taler than the Yuqr'i but are slimmer in build. Short, fine hair covers their bodies inbetween the scales leaving hardly any skin exposed. A single crest beginning on the forehead runs back over the top of the head and down the spine.
The Osjto are amphibious and have webbed feet and hands.
Creation Myth
Long before the world had life there was but dry dusts and broken plains. Many spirits found their way to that place as gusts of wind where there had been only stillness before. They blew over the plains and through the deep earth. Where they happened to brush the dust and earth the spirit-winds took on form, drawing ever more particles together till they walked the ground as the race of the Cur. About them less sentient winds had given life to grasses and forests, the backwash forming the air, fire, and water.
Culture
There is just a single Cur culture on Edadh - Zeir (pronounced zeer). Cur are also found within the ranks of the Dzaa (pronounced hwas-zar).
